With the 3rd generation Fire TV Stick launch, Amazon has revamped the respective remote a bit. The latest Fire TV Stick version has the same design, but with dedicated buttons added for OTT apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar, etc. The button options are set specific to the region it’s sold and support FHD streaming.

As the competition for content streaming getting tougher, players like Amazon and Netflix are making several typical moves to lure users towards themselves. The US e-commerce giant Amazon is all set to announce the next-gen Fire TV Stick in India.
The 3rd generation Fire TV Stick will be coming to India on April 21st, 2021, which is slightly updated to be better than its predecessor. Amazon says the 3rd gen Fire TV show is 50% more powerful than the 2nd gen set, making the streaming faster.
It supported streaming in Full HD and had Dolby Atmos for an immersive audio experience. While the basic features aren’t changed much, Amazon has updated the Fire TV Stick remote to be better and easily accessible. This includes adding more utility buttons onboard with specifics mentioned clearly, with colors!
Yeah, the voice assistant button is now replaced with Alexa, having a logo colored in blue. Others like ring-shaped navigation buttons, home, menu, back, forward/backward, play/pause, and volume buttons remain the same. But in the 3rd gen Fire TV Stick, Amazon has added dedicated buttons for OTT apps.
These include the Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Music, and Apps buttons for the Indian market. And for other markets like the US, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video remains the same, with added buttons for Disney+ and Hulu. And in Australia, Disney+ is replaced by Amazon Music.
